The next step in farming: Introducing the AGRAS T50
Last April, DJI availed the latest advancement in agricultural farming technology – the AGRAS T50 to the market. The next in its flagship T-series is a step-up from the T40, keeping up with its tradition of pushing the boundaries in technology.
For starters, the T50 boasts a radar that is almost double the size of the T40, translating into better obstacle detection. It doubles down on the T40’s binocular vision cameras, taking them to four. The T50 sums it up with a train falling radar that gives it the capability to handle slopes of up to 50 degrees without a mapping drone, which is quite impressive.
In addition, the T50 has a spreading system that can spread 1, 500kg per hour a maximum capacity and a 50 kg payload. When it comes to spraying, it can carry a 40 kg spraying payload and spray up to 50 acres per hour.
Other than that, DJI has emphasized that the AGRAS T50 “inherits a powerful coaxial twin-rotor propulsion system and a split-type torque resistant structure for next level stability when carrying 40 kg spraying or 50 kg spreading payloads. It excels across multiple scenarios, from surveying to spraying and spreading, guaranteeing stable operations and steady performance.”
The drone has already proven successful in field spraying, fertilizer spreading, fruit tree spraying and other agricultural applications. This comes due to its dramatically improved spreading flow rate compared to its predecessor, while its spreading motor has also been improved to double torque. It features a spiral flow channel spinner that gives it the ability to spread fertilisers more evenly as well as smoothly.
In addition, it boasts an UHD (ultra-high-definition) FPV gimbal camera with adjustable angles that give it the ability to collect images of farmland and orchards in real-time. Its ability to provide multidirectional obstacle sensing, terrain follow and bypass functions ensure flight safety.
All-in-all, the T50 is a definite necessary upgrade to farmers who are keen to engage in precision farming. By utilizing precision farming, farmers can increase yield, save on input-costs and maximize on profits.
